Ukraine’s 2023 grain harvest has hit 41.7 mln tons so far – ministry
UKRAINE, Sept. 29 – Amid war, Ukraine which is one of the world leading grain producer, has harvested 41.7 million metric tons of grain and oilseeds from the new 2023 harvest so far, the agriculture ministry said on Friday.
Though the ministry gave no comparative data, tt said 30.5 million tons of grain and 11.2 million tons of oilseeds had been threshed. The harvest ends late this year, depending on the weather.
Earlier this month Bitv24 reported that, Ukraine, a global leading grain grower, has harvested more than 33 million metric tons of grain and oilseeds of the new 2023 harvest so far, agriculture ministry said on Friday.
The volume included 22.2 million tons of wheat, 5.9 million tons of barley, 396,800 tons of peas, 793,200 tons of corn and smaller contributions from other cereals.
The ministry also said farmers had harvested 4 million tons of rapeseed and 5.03 million tons of sunseed.
It has said Ukraine is likely to harvest 56.4 million tons of grain this year, up from 55.3 million in 2022.
